This is a photo of one of two issues tables in the museum. These tables use a technology that had never been used before in a museum. This table features six stations with interactive light pens that allow the user to select and receive audio and videographic information on their selection. Two users can sit at each table station allowing twelve users at one time. Speakers have been integrated in the table top and within the table base. This is how it all works. The user makes their selection with a light pen. A camera under the countertop picks up the selection transmitting it to the designated computer in the control room. The computer then transmits audio to the table's speakers, and the transmitted video is projected down to the table surface from above. |
